Workforce Housing Specialist Certification Course Schedule
February 29, 2012, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. EXPANDED HOUSING OPPORTUNITIES
BRAND NEW OFFERING FROM NAR! Lunch will be provided! Course Description: 6-hour educational course developed by the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) to: educate students on the range of affordable housing opportunities and clients seeking them; increase students’ knowledge and understanding of how affordability impacts the housing market, their clients, their business, and their community; help students analyze affordable financing options through credible lenders, including local, state, federal, and non-profit assistance programs for buyers and renters; and teach students how to better leverage partnerships and resources to expand housing opportunities through workforce housing initiatives, green building concepts, and advocacy to benefit the student, their clients, and their communities. This class can be used as a recertification class for those already certified or as an elective for those pursuing the certification.**
March 1, 2012, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. FINANCING DREAMS Sponsored by the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency, this course is a Core course in the Workforce Housing Specialist program and is approved as a 4-hour CE elective credit. The Financing Dreams course provides in-depth coverage of NCHFA’s programs, including property and buyer eligibility, the loan process and how YOU can help YOUR customers finance their home. This is a Core course in the Workforce Housing Specialist certification program.
March 8, 2012, 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. EMPLOYER ASSISTED HOUSING NAR’s Employer Assisted Housing (EAH) class is a unique class to help you unlock a new market as well as to help address workforce housing issues in your community. Learn how to work with local employers to discuss EAH, EAH’s benefits, and three options employers can implement to help their employees become homeowners or afford a home that is close to their workplaces. The EAH Class will help you to increase your name recognition, expand your client base, gain referrals, enhance your professionalism, and strengthen your community. This class can be used as a recertification class for those already certified or as an elective for those pursuing the certification.**
